this is my brother's family. I was super cautious about posting pictures of him due to the nature of what he does in Af. - he will most likely have to go again and so to protect him, this is all ya get!
(yes, he is really, really tall which explains why his three year old is as tall as my four year old who is really the size of a five year old!)
He is doing ok and will be headed back, with his family, to Italy where he is stationed, in just a little while. Do keep them in your prayers. Jonny has gone through several traumatic battles and lost many good friends and will be asked to do it all over again in a year.
THIS is the price of freedom. You can agree or disagree with this war but for someone to be over there and say YES this is a war worth fighting and then come home to an even partly disjointed nation that is supposed to support him, not only in word or deed, but in the heart of the matter, has to be traumatic all over again.
I don't get polly on here very often because that's not necessarily what I want to remember about our life but with my husband and brother both being in the military and deep in the thick of this war, it is a part of my life whether I want to remember it or not. And for what we are providing for the people of Af. and the safety we are providing our and your children, that is a price I am willing to pay.
Vengeance is HIS but don't exclude yourself from being used to bring justice to a severely oppressed people in the name of vengeance not being yours.

(ok, randomly commenting on your blog after not seeing you for 2 years:) ) Thank you for saying boldly what most are afraid to say right now and unfortunately even fewer understand. It seems no one remembers why we fought all the wars we have....it's certainly not because we just love sending our friends and family to die for no reason. This family prays for those men and women who get it and are willing to "lay down their life for their brother" and protect even those who curse at them. I wish this county would wake up and get what they are taking for granted! Sorry, I just can't hold it in! God bless your husband and brother and we give thanks for your whole familie's sacrifice.
