...not in film...broken camera...but in my heart forever:
1. when Samantha pointed out the Crack Nucker on the Christmas album cover.
2. the way Nora looks at you - I don't know, she just DOES.
3. Sophie's puppy dog like excitement over life.
4. when I asked Lydia if she would stop growing she said "I can't, God just made me grow bigger and bigger" in her little four-year-old-matter-of-factness way.
5. the way Nora and Sophie have this magic over me that no matter what I'm doing, if they want to wrestle, they always win me over to the floor for a little tumble.
6. seeing the girls, all of them, 'get' something for the first time.
7. spending time with just Nora and Sophie tonight. daddy took big girls to a work function and it was just the three of us. I LOVE THAT. They play so amazingly well together, they talk, they share....I want to play with them so bad but I know I'd mess up some wave of something going on between them so I just sit there in happy tears and watch instead (around the corner of course, so they can't see me ;-)
...things I am LOVING!
1. my new, or used rather ($8 at Goodwill), bread maker. I'm attempting the switch to all homemade bread. I'm six loafs in - we'll see! it is much much yummier, much much better for us - however, it doesn't last very long - same size loaf, gone twice as fast......hmmmm....it has to be that 'yummier' part.
2. my fall stove top smelly stuff. a few slices of orange, a few slices of apples (or just the orange rind and the apple core), cinnamon sticks and whole cloves - simmer on low for a fabulously smelly house. it MAKES fall around here.
3. my Tuesday night 'Got Questions' Bible study type thingy - too cool. Making me dig, making me know the answers for the things I say I believe and pushing me further and further spiritually than I've ever been before.
4. my washing machine. it's rickety but I was thinking today, while I was going through the pile of puky sheets that #1 - all my children have beds and #2 - they have sheets to go on those beds and #3 - I didn't have to wash that throw up off by hand....so, there, as rickety as my washing machine is, I love it!

Homemade bread rocks!
Oh, about your smelly stuff... I do something very similar. If the kids eat an orange, I have them put the peel in a small saucepan. Then I cover that with water, throw in a couple of cloves and there you go!
Does Samantha like "Crack Nuckers"? If so, you should bring her to see Evan's room. Seriously. ;)
I complete agree and understand the "getting" it part. It is one of my all time favorite things!!
Also - the twins playing together and if you joined in you'd mess it up! All the time...especially when mine were the age that yours are now. I'd hear them in their rooms laughing SO hard...but I knew that if I opened the door to see what was going on that it would stop...so I just listened and loved it! What they were doing will forever be a mystery, and that's ok!
I just read eleven 'highs', that's awesome! Focus on those, cling them to your heart, and before long the 'lows' will pale in comparison.
(my mom made homemade bread too, sooo good, and it freezes well.)
Great list!
When Roxanne see's a Nut Cracker she calls it a "coconut". The other day she said "I think we should put really really big coconuts in our yard for Christmas"... didn't figure out what she meant till later.
I share your love for Goodwill. I feel like it is God's special gift to me. If he wants me to have it, it will be super cheap at Goodwill. If I have to pay big bucks to buy it new, then I am probably not supposed to have it. But... I do think I gave a bread maker to Goodwill once! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Oooh, I am all about homemade bread, I have even made cinnamon rolls, and hamburger buns in my breadmaker. I have a killer bread machine cookbook if you would like some new interesting recipes...

Amen Sister! I LOVED this list :) You & Your family are loved & missed...
I love that someone else has the same love for their washing machine. Aside from my fridge I think it is the most fabulous piece of machinery in my home. I could live without a dishwasher but don't think life would be the same without a washing machine. Just the fact that I don't have to haul everything out to a laundromat or beat it against a rock pleases me each time I go to fill a load.
And my mom thought I was the only one to get excited about laoundry.....
Thinking of you often and keeping up the thoughts and prayers for Emily.
Have a great Holiday.
