we have a sleep walker.

and her name is Lydia.

so, this is what our hallway looks like at night now - kind of an old/new addition to our home!

two nights ago: I found her playing in old bath water (we had tree roots in our pipes the other day and couldn't drain the bath tub!) - she told me she needed to use the bathroom, so I redirected her there and when she went to wipe, felt no need to get toilet paper....just reached down there bare handed!!! (I caught her in time!)

last night: Jake and I were talking in the kitchen, she came RACING down the stairs, passed us from one doorway, ran to the farther doorway, stopped at Jake's feet and threw her arms up to be picked up. All with her eyes open but that weird "I'm still asleep" haze on them.

honestly. she's adorable no matter what, but that look is freaky.

so, taking some precautions, because she's starting to scare me - bath water? running down stairs? asleep!

on another note:
having one of 'those' days.

'those' days where I have to get down on my knees, look Lydia in the face, apologize for being a 'mean mommy', tell her how I should have done it, apologize, pray together, and get some forgiving hugs from her.

yeah, that all sounds great, rest assured, what happened 10 min's before that would put me right back in the normal category.

Sophie fell in the tub (still full of the same bath water) while waiting her turn to go potty.
Nora ate 1/2 block of American cheese that I left out on the counter for 10 seconds.

yeah, it's just been weird after weird around here!!!

A sweet friend is taking the girls this afternoon so I can work on a cake - looking forward to that IMMENSELY!

Jade sleep walks as well, usually only when she needs the restroom. I agree it is the most bizarre (almost evil) look on their face. Good job with the precautions. Keep me posted on helpful tips.
