so dang frustrated.

sorry for all the negative lately...the real Holly will be back shortly.

here is an update on what it's been like to get these orphan bags out to Ukraine.

Call #1 to New Jersey:
Hello, I need to order 6 shipping labels.
Where are you located.
Omaha, NE
You need to call our Chicago office, here is the #
ok, thanks!

Call #2 to Chicago:
NO ANSWER, not even a machine

Call #3 to NJ:
Hello, I was just told to call the Chicago office for shipping labels but am getting no answer, what time do the open?
10 am.

(to myself: ok, because 10 am is a 'normal' time for shipping offices to open, duh...what was I thinking!?)

thank you.

Call #4 to Chicago:
Hello, I need to order 6 shipping labels to send boxes to Ukraine.
We don't do that any more, you need to call NJ.

Call #4 to NJ:
Hello, I need to order 6 shipping labels to send boxes to Ukraine.
You are only allowed to ship one box at a time. If a recipient receives more than one box he/she will be charged outrageous customs fees. You need six different recipients.
What if I send from six different addresses?
(now very upset and kinda yelling at me through her very thick Russian accent) NO! DOES NOT MATTER. HE WILL BE CHARGED, WE CANNOT DO THAT.

Call #5 to UPS: (just for kicks)
(explained what I was trying to do)
Never heard of them and they are not on our list of vendors.
Not sure what to tell you except that one of the six boxes you are trying to send would cost you $1200 through us.

Email #1 to contact in Ukraine:
@#$%@##$
Meest not working with us, having problems, here's what they are......

her reply:
never heard of that, not sure what to tell you, here is # of another gal who just ordered shipping labels, see what she says.

and then I decided to get crazy and just call back to NJ one more time!?

Call #6 to NJ:
Hello, I need to order six shipping labels for boxes going to Ukraine.
Ok, what is your name? address? and how many was that? Thank you, we'll send those out tomorrow.

????????????

six days later....

The envelope is here.
NO LABELS. instead, we have six customs declarations....which we don't need.

Call #7 to Doris, "the other lady":
Hi Doris (insert explanation and introduction) So, I was just curious what your exact words were when you called Chicago?
(insert my exact words)

Call #8 to Chicago:
TBA but not until after 10 am tomorrow morning, because that's when they'll be available.

In the mean time I searched every web address out there for them (there are about four) and ONE of them had a link to order labels ONLINE.

So, I did.
We'll see.

And I might have hair left by the time these boxes go out.

And we could ship them by air for about 2x's as much (about $1000 instead of $500) and they'd get there on time.

if we ever get labels, that is.

anybody?
