Enough with all the negativity.
It was not the whole picture of how our weekend went, so please, read below for what it was actually like!
we made cookies:

We worked at Walk Through Bethlehem:
(Note: we did NOT last the whole night. Lydia and Samantha's attention span was not what I thought it would be. Oh well. I think they had fun for a while. It was tough for them to not be able to walk through and just stay in one spot for three hours. The novelty of our very own goat lasted about 10min. So, now I know, but it was still worth the shot to see if they could serve with me on things like that. Serving is way important to me to show them and teach them, but leaving bitter tastes in their mouths about what it's like is not the goal, so, when it got too much, we left. No biggie because we had several people stacked up with us 'in case' we didn't make it!)
and the next night we just 'walked through' Bethlehem:
they actually have the kids 'make' bread - um...sooo cool!
pounded out our own coins:

got henna body art:
smelled frankincense and myrrh:
wrote Messiah in Hebrew in the sand at the temple:
made a pinch pot:
got gussied up in shephard's hats:
and said good-bye by petting the real camel freezing outside!:

Jake and I had a Christmas party at the base Saturday night.
what? you want pictures of that???
oh! I didn't take very many and not one of them has us in it!
we got professional pics taken, IF I like them, you might see them when they come back ;-)
update: I found ONE picture that I had to share from the party. The Nebraska vs. Longhorns game was on during the party and we have just a 'few' die hard Nebraska fans that it was literally killing not to be able to watch the game, they had to settle for this:
hee hee....
Sunday night I went back to Walk Through Bethlehem by myself to volunteer one more time telling stories in the Bedouin tent.
fun fun!
see, like I said. SOOOO not all negative!
we are blessed. I LOVE my girls. I LOVE hanging out with my girls.
we are under 3 inches of snow now, I think I'll head out to the indoor playground that just happens to have several treadmills around it for this mama who slept in and still needs a work out.
stay tuned...I attempted that Artisan Bread in 5 min's a day recipe - and I'm a tad curious how it's going to turn out.

just got caught up from the last few days. i didn't mind "all your negativity" - keepin it real, sister. but your weekend was great! LOVE that bethlehem thing! is that at your church??
and WOW about the playground with the treadmills! never heard of such a thing! we need those around here!
BTW - those coins are made of lead and are poisonous for kids to play with much or put in their mouths. My boys had fun, but were a little nervous. I think next year we will try to go on NOT Saturday. :o)! We got out in the snow and did work clearing driveways and sidewalks - so I got fresh air, sunshine, tired boys who will nap well, and I don't have to go to the gym to work out today! :o)! Love from across town!
