running.

Ran 8 FLIPPIN' MILES on Saturday.

I want to say it was soooo hard and you should be awed but it was kind of anticlimactic.
I was glad to do have done it, I felt good but it wasn't as hard as I was making it out in my head!

I am on track to run the 1/2 marathon.
ONE HUGE PROBLEM.

the two original people that were going to go with me may not be able to now.
I TOTALLY get it.
Training through the summer is tough when you have families, and trips and vacations and it's HOT.

But, I'm just trying to figure out if I should drive up to NY by myself, stay in a hotel by myself and run by myself!?

1/2 of me says that sounds awesome and the other 1/2....not so much.

I could run 13 miles here, for free.

hhmm....

ok, when's this race? maybe I can just fly to NY and meet you there and run with you and shop and stay in a hotel...now that would be fun!!! Too bad my life is totally unpredictable at the moment!!

I actually think that it would be a really great thing for you to do, Holly. There is something to be said for purposeful alone time. Time to go, eat, do what you want in your own timing. Time to read, pray, and listen for a long time without needing to filter out little voices. I say do it! And book a massage for after the race.

13 miles at home for free (I assume on your own?) isn't anywhere near as exciting as doing it in a large crowd of people. I vote for NY and use it as a mama-cation.

Keep it up girl...don't talk yourself out of it. Set a goal, work for it, and do it (this being said from the girl who hates setting goals...but I'm a great encourager!) I like your friends idea to let her meet you up there and stay and go shopping...she can meet you at the finish line!

Lisa Marie just ran the 1/2 marathon in Chicago all by herself. She did great and she could only run 5 when she practiced because it was so hot here and when we were on vacation.
She had to get new shoes after the race, but it was well worth she said.
