the weekend.

*snow Saturday morning....I'm still 'over' it.  I still could go the rest of my life without snow, or cold.
not complaining, just stating and observing.

*grocery shopping Saturday afternoon.  One day I'm going to do an entire post on what it's like to shop in the DC area. I love to shop, but shopping here is.....well, it's primal and harmful to one's existence.
I'm literally amazed if I come home and I have not accidentally hit someone with my car, been hit, hit a pedestrian or been hit as a pedestrian.
And I do my very very very best to not use the bathroom.  I have stories that would make you vomit from using the bathrooms here.  The stories include things left in the bathroom, things splashed in the bathroom and employees getting an afternoon drink from the water faucet...IN THE BATHROOM SINK.
Yes, and that is where we bring our groceries home from.....pray for us.

*Saturday night, fun family dinner, ice cream sundays for dessert (except poor Sophie, who chose not to obey, that always makes me so sad!) and then a few episodes of the Office Season Six for me and Jake (I'm starting to be 'over' this show..again, so sad.)

*Sunday morning, church.  The sermon was on gossip.  You could cut the conviction in the room.
Not around me, of course....

*Sunday lunch, Subway with some friends.  I admitted for the first time out-loud that I don't really like roast.  Like, the Sunday Roast kind of roast.  It's just not my thing and after 31 years I'm just now stating it out loud?

*Sunday afternoon - I cooked, I baked, I coooooooooked and I baaaaaaked.
I'm back in the swing of my Cooking Once A Month...look out! there may be some new recipes on the once a month cooking blog over there on the right hand side of this page.
Been a while.
Moving does that to a girl.  Knocks her off her flow.  I don't particularly like that part.
But, she's back.  The girl who cooks once a month (er...less).

AND I must be back in the cake making swing too 'cause somewhere between all those meals I was assembling a hill, a castle and some legos all made of cake....and there's this aftertaste in my mouth that strongly suggests there's been icing in there (who me!?).

*wait, did I say that was all just Sunday afternoon...I meant, Sunday afternoon AND night.

*now I'm going to get off here, go pick up my book (oh yes I did, I could not wait, I ordered the other two books and they came the.next.day.  I did not pay for over night shipping, Amazon must KNOW how amazing these books are!)

*looking forward to our first normal week of the year!
not that last week wasn't fun, it was a blast, but still, I want my 'fresh start' week!
