Actually, that's about all it includes, other than the obvious Easter festivities.
It makes sense to me.
It's Spring, a time when you actually feel like doing new things (as opposed to those depressing winter blues where all you feel like doing is eating another cookie) it's calmer (in my spirit) and Jesus coming back to LIFE is new and fresh, just like resolutions should be.
Ps 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
(um...I LOVE that version...Loyal spirit...)
So.
We haven't done our official sit down, list them out time yet but before this weekend is over, I'm sure we will.
Until then, here are a few things rattling around in my brain and heart:
1. No sugar (except in coffee) until Thanksgiving.
(join me!?)
several fold.
1 fold: duh...health. I consume an embarrassing # of calories in sugar A DAY.
2 fold: I am starting to be repulsed by the abundance in which I live without being mindful of it. So, it will be a reminder to me of my inheritance here in the country I live in and in the family I have and in the husband I somehow scored, who works so hard. The cravings will remind me to stop. pray. give thanks. and act on others needs because as much as I think I might need that sugar - there are truer needs out there and I am responsible to do something. Maybe I should start a coin jar and every time I think I just can't take it, drop some coins in the jar and then do something with that $ in November?!
3 fold: addictions...they are horrid. I need my Savior and that is all. I do not need a vice.
2. Post something every. single. day. on this here blog. Even if it's just a really bad picture. Post. Daily. Again, until Thanksgiving.
3. Memorize a huge chunk of scripture...I don't even know which one yet. But, wouldn't it be fun for us all to do it as a family??? If my girls can memorize whole movies with songs and inflections to boot, I think we can tackle something more useful and powerful!
this picture motivates me...I don't even know why!? but I do LOVE that girl...that is for sure!
(and when did my kids become the 'big kids' on the play ground!?)

I heard on a blog - ? not sure which one - that you can memorize the entire book of Colossians doing 2 verses as week. I really think that would be fun to do for our family, only I have to convince Andrew that we should do that instead of AWANA next year. I am embattled over the sugar issue, and will pray about seriously giving it up. SOOOOO HARD, GIRL!!!!!! Very proud of you and will cheer for you.
Love your motivation, and this idea in genera, and the coin jar...ya just have to make sure you have coins on hand. :~)
i like the blogging every day bit. can't even consider the no sugar bit right now. maybe one day. let me know about the scripture. i'd love to say i'd do it with you!
