Lydia's custom made day!

I told her, after she woke up and I squeezed her tight and said, "Happy Birthday" that she got to choose exactly how this day would go.

The results, after much deep thinking and slow decision making:

strawberry and whip cream pancakes...
 homemade bubble gum....

(not pictured: Subway for lunch, thrift store trip, swimming pool and pizza for dinner)

and THEN FINALLY the presents....
she begged her daddy to take the day off so she could open her presents in the morning, it wasn't possible so she had to wait all.day.long.

deducing how Nana 'knew' she needed #3-#5 of her current book series....
(She just thinks Nana is super super smart, not that Nana calls mommy to find out, and I just let her think that. I can't decide if was because I was enjoying her facial expressions so much or because I love that she sees her Nana in that light more?)

 the camera....
The girl makes fake cameras out of paper and/or duck tape on a regular basis, and uses them.
this is mostly a video camera but take still shots too.
thank you Amazon for cheap prices and refurbished products to really make it cheap but really really fun!
I can't wait to see how she uses this!

daddy talking on the camera because it's shaped like a phone...

the cheesecake....

We put everyone to bed at a normal time and then 15 min's later went and got Lydia OUT of bed to come downstairs and watch a movie with mommy and daddy of her choosing.
Love that memory and it may be a new tradition here in our clan.
Simple and precious!

Kinda like her.
Simply Precious.

Happy Birthday my deep thinking, deep feeling, artistic minded, cautious, first-born, protecting, Jesus-thirsty, responsible little girl.

We love you so much!
