not for the faint of heart.

def. of homeschooling: where you get to not only feel like a complete failure as a mother but as a teacher too! woo hoo! just what I've always wanted...to be a double failure.

def. of Christmas break:  where 1/2 of your kids forget how to write cursive 's' and 'J', even though they'd spent hours perfecting on their own before the break, where 1/2 your kids forget how to add, subtract, multiply and/or divide and where 1/2 your kids whine from the pit of their guts about starting school the next day but by the time you're DONE (like really really done) with the day, your kids are begging to do more school and you're twitching at the thought.

def. of insanity:  It is NOT 'doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results'. Maybe it used to be...but not now.  No no no.
It IS, from this moment forward: 'homeschooling after Christmas break'.

And now, let's take a moment of silence for the teachers who have to endure the "first day back" WITH A WHOLE CLASSROOM of 'I forgets'.....

*a very very silent moment*....chirp....

And now let's give a huge 'Holla!' to all the other double-failures out there....

*Holla!!!*

Basically....whether you are a homeschool mama, a teacher or the mother of too many snowed-in children....

I love ya...I feel ya.

And, in case I needed a reality check.

THIS happened one year ago TODAY:

 chills. down. my. spine.

And in other, more exciting news, I got my vacuum cleaner back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty sure the dance I made up, when they called to say it was ready this morning, had it been recorded, would have mostly definitely gone viral.
Too bad.

Let the child labor commence....
It's gettin' real.
Now the world knows what my vacuum looks like.

Refreshing to hear about your comments on homeschooling after christmas break. We had our first day back to....just me and my little kindergartener...and he had a rough day adjusting back to our few things. Glad I am not alone....and don't have a classroom ful of them. :)

Yesterday was our first day back and it was the same!! Except add in a toddler who ate 3 bananas and 2 fruit bars while we were doing math and I thought he was playing quietly.
